I think your words were thoughtful, spot on and very appropriate.

I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and saw first hand with friends and family what an insidious addiction these drugs can and will induce. I truly hope Mr. Radel will find the strength and courage to fight the demons that must haunt him in his quest to be free of all the addictions that have afflicted him.

I totally agree with your conclusion that it should be up to us the voters with the knowledge and cognizance of our own frailties to forgive or not forgive Mr. Radel if he decides to seek reelection, definitely not the loudest pundits, party pols and media talking points. As Americans we all deserve a second chance, however for those in the public domain it must be earned.

I also want to compliment you on your Spotlight Publication.
